about heather
Heather first stepped on to her yoga mat in 2008. After experiencing its transformative impact on her mental health, she completed her initial yoga teacher training with Love in Motion in 2020. Later that year, becoming pregnant guided her practice in a new direction, leading her to specialize in prenatal yoga to support herself and others through pregnancy and parenthood. Heather also completed a 300-hour training with Heart and Bones Yoga focused on functional and dynamic movement. In 2026, Heather completed the NASM Personal Trainer course to continue to help people understand their bodies and move well.
Heather’s classes foster support, connection, and confidence. Designed to engage students physically, emotionally, and mentally, her teaching empowers individuals to trust their intuition, cultivate curiosity about how their bodies move, and enjoy a playful approach to movement.
Heather is also an instructor at the University at Buffalo, where she teaches writing to international students. She holds an M.S. in Adolescence Education in Foreign Languages (specializing in Chinese) and a B.A. in East Asian Studies. She has also lived and worked in China. At home, she stays busy with her husband, two young kids, two dogs, a couple of cats, and continues to travel abroad with her family as much as possible.
